Review of Crockpot Saute SC7500 slow cooker rated: #1 of 8
Features
Stoneware pot and lid. Can be used on hob. Dishwasher safe. Weight 1.9kg. Capacity 4.7 litres
Comments
The only model which lets you put the inner pot straight on the hob to brown food before it goes back in the outer shell to cook. Produced a very moist casserole. It is a little awkward to scoop food out of the pot and you can't see through the lid to check progress.

Review of Cuisinart Cook and Hold CSC 650U slow cooker rated: #2 of 8
Features
Stainless steel exterior with ceramic pot and glass lid. 3 settings; keep warm; timer and metal trivet. Weight 3.6kg. Capacity 6.5 litres
Comments
Produced the best casserole and earned top score for ease of use. It has a timer which can stop cooking after one to eight hours, then keeps food warm until the slow cooker is switched off. The pot was the heaviest tested and is quite bulky to store.

Review of Delonghi CKS 510 slow cooker rated: #3 of 8
Features
Stainless steel exterior with earthenware pot and glass lid. 3 settings. Keep warm. Weight 2.3kg. Capacity 5 litres
Comments
A good value buy with the best overall cooking results with minimal moisture loss. Despite having a 5 litre capacity the pot is surprisingly lightweight but the outer stainless steel casing became very hot during use.

Review of Russell Hobbs 13482 slow cooker rated: #4 of 8
Features
Enamel exterior with ceramic pot and glass lid. 3 settings. Dishwasher safe. Weight: 3.9kg. Capacity 3.5 litres
Comments
Very good chicken casserole results with moist meat and tender vegetables. Handles quite small lug style design which are hard to grip. The knob handle can easily trap dirt. Poor instructions with no charts to help work out timings and settings not fully explained.

Review of Breville MM14 slow cooker rated: #5 of 8
Features
Stainless steel exterior with ceramic pot and glass lid. Weight 2.5kg. Capacity 4.3 litres
Comments
Handles and pot get hot during use but knob on lid stays cool. Good beef stew results; vegetables tender and meat well cooked. Chicken slightly overcooked. Stainless steel exterior shows finger-marks easily. Large for storing.
