Impressively easy to use with no settings: just point and shoot. The 2GB memory is enough for an hour of shooting (as it's not HD) and it uses 2 AA batteries - so it's easy to carry spares. Attach to a PC or Mac using the built-in USB connector to upload the footage easily, even to a website like YouTube.

A good size, the VP-HMX20C fits the hand well and is full of neat functions. Like the way touching the screen dictates where you want to focus. You can film for up to 10 seconds at 10x normal speed for effective slow-motion playback - ideal for sporting finish line moments.

Though quite compact, the Everio has enough space on the hard disk for 37 hours - though this is at the lowest resolution (it's 7 hours at best quality). Decent image quality - even in low light situations. Keenly priced.
