Review of Vita Audio R1 digital radio rated: #1 of 31
Features
DAB and FM tuners. 10 station pre-sets, front mounted headphone socket, front mounted line-in input
Comments
Vita Audio is top of the DAB class with this stylish, well-crafted exceptional piece of equipment. All the controls are fanned around the main on/off/volume switch on the top, leaving the front for the reasonably-sized speaker, which is capable of excellent sound up to quite loud volume. It's also ideal for use as an alarm clock as its small footprint fits nicely onto a bedside table. Extra features are in short supply, but the sound and build quality speak for themselves.

Review of Tivoli Model DAB digital radio rated: #2 of 31
Features
DAB and FM tuners. 10 station pre-sets, rear mounted headphone socket, rear mounted line-in input.
Comments
Tivoli's first DAB radio is still going strong and offers very good sound quality. The US brand has been making stylish radios for years, and this is no exception. The wooden finish is well crafted, and while the radio is large, it's far from unattractive.

Impressive sound quality and a good selection of features make this one of the best DAB radios available. It's wooden finish is attractive enough for in-house use, especially in the kitchen, while the handle and optional battery pack means it has a degree of portability as well.

Review of Pure Evoke Mio digital radio rated: #4 of 31
Features
DAB and FM tuners; output: 7 Watts per channel; mains power and replaceable built in battery; headphone, speaker and line out sockets; 30 presets shared between DAB and FM; high contrast 128 x 22 pixel two-line display; 181 x 210 x 125mm (HxWxD); available colours: chili (red), moss (green), chocolate (brown), candy (pink), midnight (black)
Comments
Good points: We love the suede and polished red leather finish of this compact radio. It also has the second best screen, after the Evoke Flow, with super smooth scrolling that shames the competition. The speaker is first class, and matches the Tivoli for clarity and fullness of sound. The integrated battery, which Pure calls a charge pack, is a bonus, as it also makes this device easily portable.
Drawbacks: None.

Review of Boston Horizon Solo XT digital radio rated: #5 of 31
Features
DAB and FM tuners; mains powered; headphone socket; 20 station presets; rotatable high contrast display adjusts automatically to ambient light; 134 x 210 x 159mm (HxWxD); available in onyx or mist with chili pepper, Spanish moss, caramel, olive, glacier, rose bud, chocolat (sic), pearl gray or onyx grilles
Comments
Good points: This radio sounds great: the speaker is loud and clear, and there's good control over treble and bass. The controls and display rotate so you can use it in portrait or landscape mode, and the trim is a snooze control for the two alarms. The display is bright, clear and easy to read, and the menu well structured and easy to navigate. The front grille is interchangeable, so you can tailor it to match your décor.
Drawbacks: The looks are somewhat industrial.Stockist: 02890 279830 www.bostona.eu
