Review of Andrew Collinge Professional Long Life expand

GHI Rating

89 / 100

Price

£29.99

Features

2000W. 3 heat, 2 speed settings; cool shot; directional nozzle; hair pik  for volumising; hanging loop

Comments

The narrow directional nozzle gets into the hair roots efficiently but hottest setting felt too hot on testers' heads, medium setting worked well. The solid feel, simple controls and generous 3m flex make it feel more like a professional dryer.

GHI Rating

86 / 100

Price

£29.99

Features

2200W. 3 heat; 2 speed; cool shot; directional nozzle; hanging loop

Comments

A powerful dryer with a good long flex. It dried hair quickly and easily with a well designed directional nozzle getting into the roots. Slightly unbalanced - heavier at the back of the dryer. Satin ion control available but results were not noticeably different when it was selected.

Review of Toni & Guy Joystick Control hairdryer close rated: #3 of 13

Review of Toni & Guy Joystick Control hairdryer expand

GHI Rating

82 / 100

Price

£34.99

Features

2000W. 5 heat, 5 speed settings; cool shot; directional nozzle; hanging loop; display shows setting

Comments

The controls are in joystick design but are hard to use without looking at them, they can get knocked easily during use. The nozzle is a good narrow shape for getting into the roots but it doesn't stay on securely. Hinged flap opens out to reveal the filter for cleaning.

Review of Daniel Hersheson Professional hairdryer expand

GHI Rating

81 / 100

Price

£87

Features

1700W. 2 heat; 2 speed settings; directional nozzle; hanging loop

Comments

Dried efficiently and quickly but hottest setting felt very hot on the testers' heads. Narrow directional nozzle works well at reaching the hair roots but doesn't swivel easily. Solid and comfortable to hold but the heaviest of all those tested.
