Having problems logging in? Perhaps we can help here.

I've lost (or forgotten) my password, what can I do?

If you forget your password, you can click on the 'Forgotten Your Password?' link on any page that requires you to fill in your password. This will bring up a page where you should enter your registered email address, and an email will be sent to that address instantly, with instructions for resetting your password.

How can I change my password?

To change your password log in to the site and go to My Profile on the Community page.  Click on Edit Community Profile.  This will bring up a page which will allow you to change your public Persona including adding or changing your avatar and some personal information.

Under About Me click on the link to change your personal details and email subscriptions.  Change your password or any details you wish to add or amend eg.  email address, password, name, address, phone numbers and subscribe or unsubscribe to the email newsletters we send out.  Once you’ve changed any of the fields click on Submit and a message will appear advising that the amendments have been made.

I keep getting logged out, why?

This is almost certainly due to a cookie issue. The best way to fix this is to ensure you have ticked the box "Remember me?" when logging in.

Does this board use cookies?

The use of cookies on this site may enhance your experience of the site. Cookies are used to enable functions such as showing whether or not a thread or forum you are viewing has new posts since your last visit, or to automatically log you back in when you return to the site after being away for a while.

How do I clear my cookies?

You may clear all your cookies by:

In Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP: 1. Click the "Tools" menu. 2. Select "Internet Options" from the menu that appears. 3. Click "Delete Cookies" on the dialog box that appears. It will be in the center area of the "General" tab.

In Mozilla Firefox: 1. Click the "Tools" menu. 2. Select "Options" from the menu that appears. 3. From the dialog box, select "Privacy" on the left. 4. Find "Cookies" on the main pane, and click the "Clear" button adjacent to it.

Your cookies should now be removed. You may want to restart the computer and revisit the forums to be sure.

What is a cache?

This is your computer's memory of the pages you have viewed.  When you go to a page you have already seen, your computer will pull it from your cache rather than go out to the worldwide web.  If you've had problems on that page previously the chances are you will again because of the cache history.  By clearing the cache, when you go to that page the computer has to pull it from the worldwide web and so you get a fresh copy and the chance to do what you want.

How do I clear my cache?

If you use:

Internet Explorer go to Tools (on the top horizontal bar) then to Internet Options, then on Temporary Internet Files (about halfway down the General page) on Delete Files.  This can take a few minutes to clear so don't worry if the page seems to freeze for a while.

Safari on a Mac, click on Safari and then on Clear Cache.

Modzilla Firefox, go to Tools, then Private Data and select what you wish to remove by un-ticking those items you don't want deleted.

I entered my subscriber number on the old site but it is not showing here.

Don't worry, it is still being held in our database but it's not being displayed at the moment.  It will be soon.
