You will need
● Knitting ability
A selection of wool, string, old lace and fabric torn into narrow strips
Wool, from a selection, Loop
String, from a selection, Nutscene
Haberdashery scissors, £8, Cath Kidston
10mm knitting needles, £3, Loop
What you do
Cut your lace, wool, string and fabric into different lengths and organise into groups according to colour and texture.
Tie the lengths of the different fabrics together in a random order with a double knot. Leave several centimetres between the knot and the end each time so the knot doesnt unravel.
Roll your long length of yarn into a ball by wrapping it round your fingers and then around itself.
Cast on 15 stitches and then knit in garter stitch (knit every row) until your scarf reaches the length you require. Cast off.
