"Bargains" are things the supermarket want you to buy, not necessarily things you need. Stick to a list - plan your menus in advance, check your cupboards before you go.
If you use a lot of, say, tinned tomatoes, and they are on offer, then buy a pack; if you have a freezer, you could buy fresh meat offers (though if the supermarket is selling meat cheap, then they aren't paying the farmers enough for their produce, so your ethics might be disturbed here). Otherwise, don't be lured away from your chosen path.
All they want is your money: stand firm!

Some great reminders there - now I must remember to take the shopping list - and stick with it, sigh! I also found it helps if you eat before you go food shopping

Hubby does our food shop on line .He finds it relaxing If it was up to me we'd starve as food shopping doesn't interest me at all .Today amongst our delivery was a jelly - 17 in the cupboard which he knew about ,pork loin steaks -13 in the freezer ,Atora suet -4 packs in the pantry, trifle -4 in the cupboard and more butter than you can shake a stick at and it wasn't on offer
I often wonder
1-What he's thinking when he's shopping .
2-Why he ignores my list
3-Does he know something that I don't
Go shopping with only so much cash and no credit cards .
