Help with recurring kidney stones?

A friend of ours just had to have kidney stones taken out for the second time in 9 years, and I was wondering if there's any recommendations to help prevent them from recurring?

Sorry I do not know much about this topic. I think the best idea would be to consult a GP or doctor about it.
But I am really concerned about this topic, please do let us know the GP's advices

Well I have read up on it a bit, and apparently it is very important to drink plenty of water, and stay away from certain foodstuffs, depending on the type of stone. Think I'll do a bit more reading!
