Gardens to visit: Aberglasney Gardens, Carmarthenshire

Aberglasney Gardens, Carmarthenshire

In their spectacular setting in the Tywi Valley of Carmarthenshire in Wales, these beautiful gardens exude a sense of romance. Even in February you will be entranced by the beautifully restored buildings, including the formal Cloister Garden, enclosed by a broad parapet walkway on three sides, and the extraordinary Ninfarium, which has been created from the ruined central rooms and courtyard of the mansion. The surviving walls of the rooms have been stabilised and the entire area is covered with a huge glass atrium and now contains a wonderful collection of warm temperate and sub-tropical plants including orchids, palms, magnolias and cycads.
