Britain's Biggest Bring & Buy Sale
Country Living asked for your help to raise money for two rural charities
This year's Country Living campaign - Your Countryside Needs You! - is all about putting your pound into the rural economy, so Country Living asked for your help to organise Britain's Biggest Bring & Buy Sale to raise funds for two important rural charities.
We're raising money for FACE - Farming & Countryside Education (educating children about food and farming) and Common Ground (promoting the conservation of valued places, landscapes and wildlife). The money raised from your sales will go wholly to these charities or you can opt to give half to a local charity.
We asked readers to register and organise their own Bring & Buy Sale, which had to take place across the country between Saturday 12 and Sunday 20 June, so they all happened around the country, around the same time.
A Bring & Buy means just that: everyone brings along unwanted or unused clothes, toys, books and bric-a-brac and in return is able to buy what others have donated. You can serve refreshments, add a cake or plant stall, include a tombola or raffle - above all it should be fun!
Whoever raised the most will win a beautiful Gaze Burvill bench worth £2,575 for their community (www.gazeburvill.com).
Look out for our Bring & Buy Sale update, which will appear in Country Living magazine later in the year.
