The 2009 Chelsea Flower Show
Foreign & Colonial Investments' Garden: silver medal
With some of the largest trees ever seen at the Show, this bog garden is dominated by these swamp cypresses, and features carnivorous pitcher plants. Rust and yellow aquilegia echoes the reddish hue of the wood. Designed by Thomas Hoblyn. The wooden waves are made from a redwood tree felled by a storm; much else of the gardens' material is recycled. After the show, the garden will be reconstructed in Suffolk.
