The Bressingham Gardens, Norfolk
Alan Bloom created his garden in 1953 growing hardy perennials in island beds, there are now 48 beds in front of Bressingham Hall and in adjacent meadows. With over 5,000 different species and varieties, this is an important as well as a beautiful historical collection and a Mecca for perennial-lovers.
Open: Open daily from 10.30am to 5pm until 4 November

The Place for Plants, Suffolk
The Place for Plants at East Bergholt Place, is a family run specialist plant centre, garden and arboretum with 20 acres of unusual trees and shrubs, spring bulbs, topiary and a series of ponds. Particularly beautiful in Spring with snowdrops, magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias followed by the fritillary and wild flower meadow. The plant centre, in the spectacular Victorian walled garden, offers a range of plants for sale.
Open: Daily from 1 March to 30 September, 10am to 5pm (closed Easter Sunday)
