Hampton Court flower show - An Uprising of Kindness
In 1954 Abbé Pierre appealed to the public for donations for the homeless. He described the resulting generosity as \'an uprising of kindness\' which enabled him to set up the first Emmaus Community (www.emmaus.org.uk). As a tribute this garden included many reclaimed items such as stacked dinner plates to make the water feature. Residents of Emmaus in Cambridge, all of whom were once homeless, helped create the garden.
