What's the buzz?
Best Western Sudbury House Hotel is a peaceful hotel in a the little market town of Faringdon in Oxfordshire; just 17 miles from the city of Oxford itself, its the perfect base if you want to see Oxford and get in a bit of countryside relaxation too. Set in nine acres of land, it was formerly a Regency residence and its now known locally for its popular murder mystery meals and seasonal packages (choose from one to four night stays).
Any luxurious touches?
The grounds are amazing! Theres a real sense of English country life here. And the hotel is quite big - there are 49 rooms. Our room was surprisingly spacious.
Best view?
Just step out of the door and the views are fabulous: you immediately feel you are immersed in a rural idyll, with winding paths and greenery all around. Theres a fabulous official viewing spot five minutes from the main back gate.
What are the rooms like?
Clean and comfortable with television, en suite bathrooms, hair dryer and ironing board. There are tea- and coffee making facilities with biscuits and the staff are happy to replenish them if you run out.
Any bathroom products?
Yes, you get a good selection of bath, hair and face washes in funky tubes.
How about the food?
There is one restaurant and a bar. The restaurant serves good fine food, with three-course dinners in the evening. You can get a two-course meal for £14.45. Breakfast is a generous buffet with both hot food and cold. The bar has a relaxing atmosphere and is used by residents and locals alike.
What will it cost me?
From £40.50 for a double room; from £63.00 for a double room including breakfast. The rates are depend on the length and date of your stay.
