Somewhere to stay: Sithe Mor House, Loch Awe

The best B&Bs allow the character of the house and the host's personality to shine, and Sithe Mor, overlooking magnificent Loch Awe, is a classic example. John Cugley is full of bonhomie, serving drinks in front of the fire and recommending wines to accompany the delicious suppers served by his wife Patsy. We felt more like house guests than customers. Our bedroom was huge with high ceilings, heaps of throws and quilts, and far-reaching views of the loch from the beautiful bay window. Rural bliss.
