Somewhere to stay: Venetia, Abersoch
A boutique hotel in a seaside villa in Gwynedd. Suzy Koo checked in...
What's the buzz?
A boutique hotel set in a traditional Victorian seaside villa in the coastal town of Abersoch. Owners Marco and Jane have lovingly restored and updated the interiors to a high spec.
Any luxurious touches?
A plasma screen TV in the bathroom and a Jacuzzi bath (big enough for two!). There is an espresso bar in the lounge area, too.
Best sea view?
You can see the shore from the balcony at the front of the hotel the sheltered sandy beach is only a five-minute stroll away.
What are the rooms like?
With just five bedrooms in the hotel, there is an intimate, luxurious feel. Bright and spacious, they have been individually designed with chic Philippe Starck-inspired touches. There are contemporary walk-in showers and gorgeous cashmere throws on the beds, along with toasty underfloor heating.
Any products in the bathroom?
Yes, pampering Ginseng & Macadamia shower treats.
How about the food?
Marcos chef background means that the food is outstanding. The menu has a strong Italian influence fused with fresh local produce. We tried the Cardigan Bay scallops and Aberdaron crab linguine, both of which were glorious!
What will it cost me?
Doubles including full breakfast from £80 per room per night.
