The Country Living Guide to Rural Scotland

2nd Edition, by James Gracie (Travel Publishing Limited, £11.99)
The second edition of the Country Living Guide to Rural Scotland is one of 10 rural travel guides published in conjunction with Country Living Magazine. The Country Living Guide to Rural Scotland is packed with vivid descriptions, hsitorical stories, amusing anecdotes and interesting facts on hundreds of places in a country endowed with some of the most beautiful and stunning scenery in the British Isles. From the desolate peaks of the Highlands and rugged coastlines of the mainland and off-shore islands, to the peaceful and fertile valleys of the Scottish Borders. But the visitor can also find quiet villages, cosy market towns, neat fishing ports as well as the history and culture of the larger cities such as Edinburgh.
The guide will definitely appeal to people with a real interest in the beauty, tranquillity and traditional values of country life, who are looking for high standards in places to stay, eat and drink and quality craftsmanship in any products purchased. Equally for those readers who are seeking a more active life in the countryside, the book provides carefully selected walks and details on many places of interest including The National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland properties. The attractive cover design incorporates a photograph of Eilean Donan Castle from across the Loch.
