Weave a berried and variegated Christmas wreath

A twiggy base is a great starting point for a festive, rustic design

On a winter walk, collect groups of foliage of the same type: traditional evergreens, sprays of variegated leaves or colourful winter stems are all good choices.

Cut to size and thread down into the wreath base, securing with a twist of wire. Continue adding pieces until the base is covered. Add wands of pussywillow and cornus, cut to size and bend carefully over your knee to
form hoops that, when threaded into the wreath, will add depth and create a sense of movement.
