Make painted coat hangers

Spruce up your hangers with this floral design

 
Look for bargain packs of wooden coat hangers and paint them in pretty colours. Use leftover paints or, to get small quantities of a variety of colours, buy test pots. These are usually emulsion and will need to be painted or sprayed afterwards with clear polyurethane for a durable finish. First, paint the hangers all over in one colour. Then, using a fine paintbrush, paint on your design. For best results, keep the design simple - try spots, hearts or flowers. Don't worry if the painting is not quite perfect - small imperfections are part of the joy of a hand-crafted product.
