A comfortable and practical cushion for sitting outdoors

Spotty garden cushionMake a practical cushion for sitting or lounging in the garden with a cotton top for comfort and a PVC base, so it can be placed directly on the ground.

How to make

Cut one 90cm square from PVC and cotton furnishing fabric, and two from cotton fabric for the inner bag. Stitch two inner bag pieces together leaving a gap for turning through. Turn right side out and fill with polystyrene beads. Sew up gap in stitching. Insert two 40cm zips between the outer squares with the zip pulls in the centre of one side (see illustration). With right sides together, pin and stitch the two squares together around remaining outer edges. Turn right side out and insert inner bag.
