Easy jewellery to make
Make some fantastic jewellery to give as gifts
Simply thread your choice of beads onto fine leather thonging. For a simple necklace, you could use a long piece of thonging and secure the beads at each end with knots and then fasten the necklace by tying it. For a more professional finish, add a metal clasp (you will need jewellery pliers for this).
To make a loop for a chunky bead, thread a head pin through a small bead first, then the large bead. Trim the end of the head pin and bend it with round-nose pliers to make a loop.
To secure the ends of the leather thong, thread it through a calotte, knot the thong and trim the end. Using pliers, gently close the calotte over the knot. Attach calottes to clasp to fasten.
