Make a holiday scrapbook
Remind yourself of a wonderful holiday by making a special scrapbook for your souvenirs
You will need:
● thin corrugated card, approximately 32 x 27cm
● lightweight handmade paper for cover
● A4 handmade Indian rag paper
● one A4 acetate sheet
● spray adhesive
● clear adhesive photo-mount corners
● hole punch
● string or ribbon
● scissors
How to make:
1 With grooves in corrugated card running from top to bottom, gently score a vertical line - using one blade of a pair of scissors - 4cm from left-hand edge and another line 2cm to the right of the first. Fold along lines, to create the back, spine and narrow front of the book. Open out and cut the covering paper about 3cm bigger all round.
2 Spray outside of card with adhesive and apply covering paper, folding card to make sure book will still open. Fold and stick excess covering paper onto inside of card, making neat mitres at corners. Cut a second piece of paper slightly smaller than card. Spray wrong side of paper with adhesive, and stick to neaten inside of cover. When dry, mark position on front and back for holes and punch out.
3 Make holes in acetate and rag paper sheets to match cover. Arrange chosen pieces and glue in place or hold in place with photo corners.
4 Compile your book with the acetate sheet forming the front cover. Tie with string or ribbon to allow more pages to be added at a later date.
