Transform a teatowel
Take a teatowel... three ways to rework it
Make a fragrant lavender pillow
Lay the linen face down and fold in the bottom and top edge so they
overlap. Use an iron-on adhesive to seal both ends of the bottom flap
and sew on a button. Secure the top flap using the loop on the teatowel. Make or buy a separate cushion filled with dried lavender to slot inside. Here's how to make a scented sachet
Sew a handy peg bag
Lay the tea towel right side down and fold down the top edge by a third and then fold up the bottom edge by two thirds, so the hemmed edges of the tea towel touch. In the centre of the top fold, cut a slit for where the coat hanger will need to come through. Make a template of the shape you want the bag to be, lay it on the folded tea towel, adding a 1.5cm seam allowance, and cut out. Turn wrong side out and sew open sides together, leaving the slit at the top open. Turn right side out and push the hanger through.
Hang a simple café curtain
Simply sew or use an iron-on adhesive along the top edge of two matching tea towels to make a pocket. Then hang on a sprung café pole that fits into your window recess.
