Flower-arranging: scented seasonal centrepiece
Build your own seasonal centrepiece and fill the room with festive scents
Designed exclusively by John Lewis florist Jane Scott
You will need:
● 5 pine stems
● 3 stems eucalyptus
● 3 stems holly berries
● 3 glittered cordyline tops
● 5 mini pears
● Garden canes
● 4 cinnamon stick bundles
To line the cube:
● Handful of holly berries
● 2 handfuls of cinnamon sticks
● 4 handfuls of eucalyptus leaves
● 4 handfuls of pine snippets
● 2 handfuls of star anise
● Handful of cloves
Step 1
Separate all components for lining cube. Place a layer of pine snippets in base of larger vase, then place smaller cube on top.
Step 2
Carefully pour in berries, cinnamon and remaining cube-lining items until layers have been built up on all four sides.
Step 3
Half fill smaller cube with water. Strip pine stems and eucalyptus stems below water line and arrange in smaller vase.
Step 4
Add holly stems and glittered cordyline. Attach pears using garden canes and, finally, rest berries and bundles of cinnamon sticks on top.
Tip: Because no fresh flowers have been used, this arrangement will last about two weeks
