A piece of sea-smoothed driftwood is used as a display base for these massed white roses and golden ranunculus.

 

This arrangement is by the Surrey area of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies, with the theme of Embracing Town and Country.

Message in a bottle

You could create a similar display with twigs in a vase, or alternatively to decorate a tree outdoors.

Time for reflection

Using foliage only gives a bold simplicity that works well with this reflective background. Designed by Dominique Gurret, this creation in the Thoroughly Modern section earned its creator a silver-gilt medal.

Get creative with containers

Twin and intertwine

Two different-sized glass vases hold tightly packed cream roses supported on a collar of gypsophila, with stems clearly on show. The vases are linked physically as well as visually with twisted twigs.

The display comes from the Inside Out, Outside In theme by the Wessex and Jersey branch of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies
