Brighten a wooden garden table and chairs set

Paint wooden garden table and chairs

Remove the fabric back and seat from each chair, along with the seat rods. Set aside for later. Lightly sand the furniture and apply a weatherproof paint to the chairs and table legs. Apply a second coat if needed. With some outdoor paints such as Cuprinol's Garden Shades range you don't need to apply a primer first. If the tabletop is in good condition, you can leave it as it is.

While the paint is drying, use the old fabric as a template to make new seats and back rests.

Table painted in Willow; chairs painted in Willow and Wild Thyme; both £10.79 a litre, the Garden Shades collection by Cuprinol. Find similar fabrics at Sanderson.
