Transform garden furniture: bistro set

Repaint garden bistro set

Clean and sand the furniture thoroughly to remove any flaking paint or rust. Make sure it's completely dry before you start to apply paint. There are several ways to cover metal: you can use a specialist paint applied with a brush or roller, or an aerosol or spray gun, which will give you the speediest results. One coat should be enough and will be touch dry in one or two hours. However, if you're covering a dark colour with a pale shade you may find you need more than one coat.

Try Direct to Rust paint, £11.29 for 500ml; Smooth Metal Finish Aerosol, £8.19; Metalmaster gun, £43.08; Metalmaster Canisters, £16.99 each; all Hammerite
