Adorn your tree with these easy to make, no-bake decorations, which have a wonderful, spicy scent evocative of Christmas. They will keep for many years if you store them in an airtight container where their aroma will intensify.

How to make

250g apple sauce
1 teaspoon glue (PVA is fine)
120g cinnamon

1 Mix all the ingredients together by hand or in a food processor to form a stiff dough (add a little water or flour if the dough is too dry or wet).

2 Roll out to 5mm thickness and cut with shaped biscuit cutters.

3 Make a small hole at the top with a skewer (to hang the biscuit with ribbon) and leave to dry for three days.

4 Thread with a fine ribbon to hang.
