Turn a mismatched collection of old frames into a decorative display of family photos
Photo frames collected over the years come in all shapes and finishes. To create a unified display, spray them all the same colour.
You will need
● Plasti-kote Primer spray paint
● Plasti-kote Matt Super spray paint in White, or a colour of your choice, both available from B&Q (0845 609 6688)
1. First, remove all the glass and photos, and test a small area on the reverse of the frames. Protect the work surface with newspaper, then spray frames with the primer.
2. Once dry, spray with the paint - a few thin coats give a better result than one thick coat. Leave to dry.
3. Replace glass and photos. Lay the frames out on the floor or a table to find a pleasing arrangement. Work from the centre out, so the collection can be added to at a later date, then hang them on the wall.
Tip: For a frame that's too large for the photograph, buy a card mount from John Lewis (020 7629 7711) or frame shops.
