Make it bold and bright
Pick or buy the most vibrant dahlias you can find in pink, red and orange. Trim the stems and give them a good long drink. Choose your vase; a traditional style creates contrast with a contemporary arrangement. The opposite also works well; use a simple modern vase with country-style wildflowers.
The easiest way to get an even domed effect is to use florist’s foam. Start from the centre and gently push the stems of the dahlias into the foam, cutting to the correct lengths as you go. Continue until the foam is covered, turning the vase to ensure the dome is symmetrical.
