For a simple, natural look, dab glue on the tips of a pine cone and sprinkle on glitter. (If you're really pushed for time, you can leave it plain.) Tuck in a folded place card with the name written in matching metallic ink.
Add a flickering glow to the table with a tiny colour-coordinated candle or tealight and a Christmas tree twig on every plate.
Tear a square of good-quality paper to give an artistically rough edge. Write the name in the centre. Tie some Christmas ribbon in a bow and pin to the paper and a napkin. Drape the napkin over the back of the chair.
