Make a cake stand from plates and glasses

Recycled cake stand

Use old plates and stem glasses you have at home, or look in charity and antique shops for a selection in different sizes. Stack them with the largest plate at the bottom, then an upturned glass, a medium-sized plate, another glass and the smallest plate on top, and secure with ceramic glue. You could use vintage teacups instead of glasses for the stands.

Tip: For a temporary cake stand, don’t glue the pieces together – but make sure they are securely stacked before adding cakes.
