Make your own découpage picture frame

Decoupage map picture frame

Cut copyright-free map images (or leftover wallpaper, giftwrap or old sheet music) into 2cm x 2cm and 3cm x 2cm pieces. Lay these out roughly over a plain picture frame to work out how many pieces you will need.

With a paintbrush, apply a fine layer of PVA glue all over the back of the paper and stick the first piece of decoupage to one corner of the frame.

Continue to glue the other pieces of map to the frame, overlapping as you go, until the frame is covered.

Leave to dry completely, then finish off by applying a thin layer of water-based varnish.
