Make a pretty pinboard
Create a decorative and useful focal point
Create a focal point in your kitchen or study by displaying cards and invitations on a fabric-covered corkboard made with an offcut of material and ribbon in a contrasting colour.
Fold an offcut of fabric or even the back of an old dress shirt tightly around the board. Staple, glue or use push-pins to secure it in place. Wrap a length of ribbon from corner to corner diagonally across the board and fix the ends on the reverse with a pin or fabric glue. Repeat across the opposite diagonal, again securing on the reverse. Where the ribbons cross in the centre of your board, secure the point with a drawing pin. Follow with a few more strands of ribbon, pinning again where it crosses another ribbon, and also on the reverse until you have a criss-cross pattern of ribbon.
