Give books a new cover

CL books covered in fabric, wallpaper and maps

A pretty way to recover a favourite book or journal is to use wrapping paper, a piece of wallpaper or an old map – perhaps of a favourite part of the country.

Lightweight wallpapers that bend easily are best.

Fabric can be sewn to create a slipcover. Follow the design of a book dustjacket and sew up the top and bottom flaps to enclose the covers. Sew on a button and a piece of elastic thread to close.
