Make jolly jamjars

Fabric covered jam jars

To sell at a fete, make jars filled with sweets. Otherwise, use this idea as a decorative finishing touch for jars of jam.

Ffill empty jam jars with colourful wrapped sweets. Cut out circles of pretty fabric about 4cm wider, all around, than the lids. Place fabric over lid and secure in place with an elastic band. Thread a small card price tag onto a length of jute twine and tie in a bow around the lid, covering up the elastic band.

Tip: Soak old jars in hot water to remove the labels. Any residual glue can be removed with white spirit.
