Christmas decorations: paper lanterns

Always a favourite for children to make, these lanterns look good when displayed in a group. Cut rectangles 15cm x 21cm from pretty papers. Fold in half lengthwise and make cuts about 1cm apart from the fold to 1.5cm from the edges. Open out the paper and roll to make a lantern shape. Overlap ends and glue in place. Make holes as for bunting and thread with cord or narrow ribbon, knotting ends to make hanging loops.
