Mother's Day floral arrangement
Say it with flowers on Mother's Day
Create a floral arrangement in an elegant enamel pitcher that can be used again and again.
What you'll need
● Jug or vase
● Flowers
● 80cm wire-edged ribbon to match
Before you begin
Choose blooms that are in season, such as scented narcissi, tulips and ranunculi, to keep costs down. Buy or reuse a large jug - we chose an apple-green metal pitcher (£13 from Garden Trading). Choose ribbon to match either the jug or the flowers - we used Ombre, £3.25 a metre from John Lewis. Keep the flowers in deep water in a cool place until the day.
How it's done
Fill the jug with cold water and a sachet of flower food.
Cut 1cm off the stems diagonally before arranging in the jug. Fill the jug with lots of narcissi and place the tulips evenly throughout, cutting the stems so the flower heads sit just above the narcissi. Space just five ranunculi evenly around the arrangement.
Tie the ribbon into a bow on the handle as a beautiful finishing touch.
Tip: Make your display look luxurious by using just two colours.
