Transform a lamp base with crackle paint

Painted lamp stand

This is ideal for a dark-wood or dark-painted lamp base. Paint with emulsion to completely cover the underneath colour. We used three coats of Farrow & Ball Strong White emulsion to cover our black lamp base, leaving to dry between coats. When completely dry, apply a coat of One Step Crackle. This dries clear and, after four hours, reveals cracked paint with the dark base colour just showing through, to create a subtle crackled effect. Add a new lamp shade to finish.
