Flower arrangement in a melon

You will need:

● melon
● small vase or pot
● 4 stems lady's mantle (Alchemilla mollis)
● antirrhinum
● 6 roses
● ivy

Tip: You can use flowers from your garden - any vividly coloured ones, such as  bright pink geraniums will work well

Step 1

Scoop out melon and place a solid-bottomed container filled with water inside the skin. You might have to slice the bottom off the melon to make it stand properly.

Step 2

Add the four stems of lady's mantle to the pot. Gently overlap the greenery over the edge of the melon.

Step 3

Cut stems on antirrhinum and roses and place inside pot. Make sure roses are slightly shorter than the other flowers.

Step 4

Place ivy in pot, making sure any stems are in the water and at least one trails around the outside of the melon.
