Turn a plate into a clock
Create your own unique clock using an old china plate
Mark the centre of the plate with a pen. Measure the size of the clock piece that will go through the plate to know how big a hole to make and which size masonry drill bit you'll need. Lay a thick piece of soft wood on a flat surface and put the back of the plate on top. Drill gently through the front of the plate, applying a gentle amount of pressure to prevent the plate from cracking. It's a good idea to test this out on a plate you don't want to use first. To finish, pass the mechanism through the hole, attach the hands and put in a battery.
