Give a plain cushion a stylish makeover with vintage buttons and beads
What you need
a plain cushion cover
Selection of sparkly buttons and beads
Needle and thread
Embroidery scissors
Cushion pad
Step 1
Iron your cushion cover flat. Gather a selection of buttons and beads to decorate your cushion with and place them on the cushion to get an idea of how you would like it to look. John Lewis has a great selection, or visit www.beadsunlimited.co.uk for a wide range of beads to choose from.
Step 2
Using a fine needle, carefully sew on the buttons and beads. Start from the middle of the cushion, working your way to the outside to make sure your cushion looks even all over.
Step 3
Put your cushion into the cover, making sure all the buttons and beads are sewn tightly in position.
