Make a tea-towel storage bag

Storage bag to make from teatowel

Turn an old linen tea towel or a piece of unwanted fabric into a simple, handy bag for holding carrier bags or textiles.

Lay with the fabric right-side down and sew a thin channel along the longest edge of one side of the tea towel. Thread through with elastic and secure the ends in place with safety pins. Turn face-side up and fold in half lengthways.  Sew along the two sides without the channel, creating a pocket. Turn right side out and pull the elastic tight, cinching in the top of the sack. Knot in place to keep the opening tight to stop bags coming out.
