Make sweet-smelling lavender-filled birds
These fragrant birds made from scraps of fabric make a change from sachets
Enlarge template below to about 15cm long and cut out two fabric bird shapes.
Trace two wings onto Bondaweb and iron onto wrong side of contrasting fabric and cut out. Peel off paper backing and iron wings in place on fabric bird shapes.
Stitch close to edge of wings. With right sides together, pin and stitch bird shapes together taking 5mm seam allowances and leaving a gap for turning through. Snip seam allowances to stitching at intervals around beak and tail.
Turn right side out and fill with dried lavender. Sew up gap in stitching and sew on two tiny buttons for eyes.
Fold a 20cm length of narrow ribbon in half and knot ends together. Pin in place first to check bird will be balanced when hanging, and then stitch securely in place.
