Sew a fabric watch-strap
Jazz up a plain watch with these interchangeable fabric straps
Choose fine fabric such as cotton lawn. Cut out a rectangle 45cm x 12cm. Fold in half lengthwise with right sides together and stitch along the side taking 1cm seam allowances and diagonally across each end, leaving a gap in the centre for turning through. Trim seam allowances to 5mm, turn through and sew up gap. Press and thread through watch.
Tip: Make sure the watch has a wide enough gap to thread a fabric strap through - a man's watch will have a larger gap. Use an old watch or buy an inexpensive one from a local market and ask the seller to remove the strap.
