Doll wearing handmade bride dress

Enlarge templates to the required size on a photocopier. Using templates, cut out one bodice front on fold and two bodice backs. Cut a rectangle 50cm x 21cm for skirt. Stitch darts in bodice front and press to one side. Stitch bodice front to bodice backs at side seams. Neaten edges and press to one side. Neaten top edge of bodice, fold 5mm onto wrong side and stitch. Gather top edge of skirt and stitch to bottom of bodice. Neaten all edges.

Stitch centre back skirt seam for 16cm from lower edge. Turn up and stitch narrow hem. Fold 1cm onto wrong side and stitch a piece of Velcro to bodice back edges to fasten.

Add a layer of lace on the skirt, if required. Trim the bodice with a small ribbon flower. For headdress, wrap wire or a plastic freezer bag tie into a circle to fit doll's head. Bind tightly with narrow satin ribbon and stitch ends securely. Cut a circle of net 18cm in diameter for veil. Fold in half and stitch to back of headdress. Trim the stems of a bunch of small artificial flowers and bind the stems with ribbon. Stitch ends securely.
