What doll's house would be complete without a handmade bed?
Make a bed for a little girl's favourite doll. Using a shoebox lid for the bed base, cut fabric to cover the lid and sides. Stitch a broderie anglaise trim to the edges.
With wrong side out, lay the fabric over the lid and pin the corners as shown. Stitch and trim the seam allowances.
Cut a piece of foam for a mattress. Cut fabric large enough to wrap around the foam. Mitre the corners as for the bed base and hem the edges. Cut 2 rectangles of fabric 28cm x 25cm for the duvet and 12cm x 9cm for the pillow. With right sides together, stitch the rectangles together around the outer edge, leaving a gap for turning through. Turn right side out and press. Fill with polyester toy stuffing and sew up the gap in the stitching.
