Blogging on breast cancer
Read one woman's frank account of what living with breast cancer is like
For seven years Lindsay Nicholson edited Good Housekeeping, winning awards and a huge circulation. When she left in 2006 it was to take on the new challenge of being editorial director of the National Magazine Company, which owns Good Housekeeping. But in January 2007, everything changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In Lindsay's memoir, 'Living on the Seabed' (Vermilion, £7.99) she wrote movingly about how her first husband and young daughter, Ellie, both died of leukaemia. With her own diagnosis, Lindsay decided to take her writing online and blog for the magazine she'd edited for so long. Lindsay's blog was extremely popular when it was first published - its honesty is bracing; its humour is fantastic and its ability to help anyone going through cancer treatment is undeniable. Having got through chemo, radiotherapy and much more, Lindsay has now stopped blogging but you can read all her blog entries by clicking on the link below.
