Watch what you wear

Choose light layers of clothing that can be easily taken off and put back on as the temperature changes. Cotton is good at absorbing perspiration yet still keeping you warm after a flush has passed.

Our readers on the menopause discussion boards say: 'If you keep the area around the neck bare, you will feel cooler, so avoid collars, wear V-necks, with a scarf you can take off if necessary. The wrist is also a hot spot, so wear three-quarter sleeves or roll your sleeves back' - Franbee
