Expert body tips: eyebrow shaping

My eyebrows are an endangered species after years of over-plucking. Is it really too late to bring them back from the brink of extinction?

The good news is you can reverse the damage of a heavy-handed tweezer technique according to eyebrow expert, Danielle Featherstone-Price, director at London's Strip salon (020 7590 0050). "Hair is amazingly resilient - especially up to the age of 45 - and while persistent plucking does weaken the root, there are tricks to encourage re-growth and create the illusion of full, healthy brows," she promises.

"Allow your brows to grow fully for four weeks and if fine hairs or a slight stubble appears then there's potential to rescue them," advises Danielle. "During this time, gently massage the brow area daily for 30 seconds with castor oil which increases circulation and conditions skin to stimulate growth."

Celebrity make-up artist Marie-Louise Featherstone recommends using a brow powder and angled brush to fix existing eyebrow emergencies. "A matte powder which matches your hair colour gives soft definition and structure for the most natural-looking shape."
